The
Uplands Golf Club thrives today, nourished by strong roots and a
bright sense of future, strengthened by a diverse membership with
shared social values and a sense of community.
In the early years of the 20th century, a group
of passionate local players decided to expand and enhance their
golf game, to move beyond their rather rough nine-hole course situated
a few miles to the west of Victoria's harbour. They chose the present
Uplands site high above the city for its outstanding natural beauty
and its potential for great golf. In 1922 the Uplands Golf Club
opened for play and since the beginning the club has more than realized
its early promise of sophisticated, challenging golf among friends.
In the 21st century, we continue to build on the
founders' vision, always working toward the perfect game while maintaining
our respect for history and the importance of
friendship. Harmonious values, relaxation, and year-round golf are
still club hallmarks today.
Uplands
